Questions for Chapter 10

  1. In page 99, Atticus said: “it’s a sin to kill a mocking bird”. Why do you think he said this sentence?
  2.  Is it only meaning “mocking bird”?
  3. Does it have other meaning? If yes, can you tell us what that is?
  4. Does it relate to the title? Why?
  5. Why do they kill a dog? Is that only what to tell us Atticus is a good shooter? If not, what does it want to tell us?
  6. Why is “nigger” a bad word? What is the background knowledge that we need to know?
